I am delighted to have my work C8 from the series FlatCube in the 195th Annual Exhibition of the Royal Scottish Academy. The RSA Annual Exhibition is the most extensive exhibition of contemporary art and architecture in Scotland. Having been a mainstay of the academy's calendar since its inception 195 years ago, the Annual Exhibition has evolved over the years, providing a platform for Scottish art alongside international artists, often including topical or political elements, to give an uncensored, independent voice to artists. The Annual Exhibition is the core of the RSA’s exhibition programme, and represents the Academy’s commitment to promoting excellence in visual art in Scotland. In light of the current extraordinary circumstances, the RSA team has been working hard to ensure that the exhibition goes ahead in an entirely digital format. Curated by Mark Starel Exhibition Statement: Living with a lifelong passion for Geometry and year-long isolation from the devastating pandemic Covid, artist and curator Mark Starel of Warsaw Poland brought the two together (geometry & mask) with his newest exhibit COVIMETRY. Today human survival is dependent upon our using an “antivirus” mask covering our most noted communication tool, our mouths, along with noses and much of our face. The mask has hindered our ability to read others expressions and feelings. By adopting the mask as a template and canvas, it now becomes a form for expression- even if just a fragment of a bigger picture of our times metaphorically. Starel also brought together over 300 artists, uniting continents and likeminded geo-zealots. His intention is to grow the exhibit until it reaches 1000 artists, representing every country as a global community. Different artistic strategies are conveyed, exploring the shape and structure of the mask through the inclusion of a variety of media, styles and techniques that allow for contemporary notions of how geometry is being investigated today. — Suzan Shutan |

Curated by Juliane Rogge and Ivo Ringe This exhibition focuses on a phenomenon currently taking place in studios of concrete art: the multi-layered composition of the picture plane. At the same time and in the same place, different structures overlap, which interact and yet remain individually recognizable.Through their interaction, self-contained autonomy and referential coexistence, the space between these pictorial layers becomes a statement in itself: here, unique depth and energy are generated and felt. |

The main objective of the organisers of this event is to present the widest range of possibilities explored in concrete and geometric art. Geometric abstraction represents one principle and an infinite number of creative possibilities. Over the past century, geometric abstraction went through interesting developments reflected in the works of artists, unique mutations, diverse syntheses and opposing forces, formal and philosophical reverberations. Even today, many artists enhance its development in new dimensions. This form of fine art has a rich tradition in many European countries. This exhibition is showcasing a broad spectrum of generations ranging from renowned artists to the youngest protagonists. The international cooperation opens up opportunities for a deeper appreciation of other cultures through the universal medium of art. The central part of the exhibition project featuring artists from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Austria, Poland, Hungary, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Slovenia is shown in the Umelka Gallery in Bratislava, and further exhibitions are planned to open in the Gallery Z, Gallery of the French Institute, Gallery of the Polish Institute, Gallery of the Austrian Cultural Forum. The partners and co-organizers of the event are the Slovak Arts Council, Bratislava Old Town Council, the Slovak Union of Visual Art, participating galleries and foreign cultural institutes, including the French Institute, the Hungarian Cultural Institute, the Polish Institute, the Austrian Cultural Forum as well as some embassies, partner institutions and foreign organizations. |

If any art made using digital devices is regarded as digital art, there is a wide variety of achievements, plus if you do not use this tool in the last stage of creation, the digital effect is not always Attachment. There are many computer tools that help to create artistic creation, some are pre-established to satisfy a large number of users, others offer the opportunity to organize a program itself and create what is called "art generative". Although the program is difficult to write, it joins in its vocabulary and philosophy the generative grammar of Linguist Noam Chomsky, which is an interesting opening. This exhibition also gives digital artists the opportunity to meet. It will be a great pleasure if this path leads to the possibility of working collectively, which seems to be easier than in traditional art. |
